Lots happening!

It has been a while since the last update…many things to write … where shall I start…

1) We spent the Easter holidays (9-13 April) in Vienna, Austria. It was a great trip! It was a great start to book a 4 stars hotel with a low price. The weather was awesome (in fact was a little bit hot that we had to go and buy summer cloth after we arrived) and there are plenty to see. The mozart and Strauss concert is probably what we enjoyed the most!

2) Leo has a few interviews for job but none of them is promising. The previous job was from a Tobacco company and so Leo decided not to take it even though the salary is very very high. Another job which matches his profile perfectly but then he found out that it was related to futune telling! He went to another interview last week, the job description during the interview is not the same as it is on the post. And the manager seems to be a very demanding person and told him that she wouldn’t defend her staff if things go wrong … ohhhh…. Keep praying lor :)

3) 19 April 2009, we started our first church choir practice. This is the first choir amongst the chinese church in Switzerland. Praise the Lord! From the first audition, we found that most of member have a wide range and the guys can sing high (someone can touch high C!). Although not many people has sung in a choir before or have learnt the skill of singing, everyone has a good heart of serving Him. May the Lord continue to keep and lead us.

4)Last Saturday at 10pm (2nd May), when i was about to go to bed, I got a call. The children sunday school teacher got sick and I was asked if I could replace her for Sunday. Yes, it was a very last minute but noone can predict “emergency”. And since I have no material with me, I have to quickly search online for a story, chat with Jennifer from the state about games, etc. I also wanted to do bible verses but we don’t have a white board or pen or bluetag to stick the card… resources here is very limiting. At the end, I found some pins and decided to use cardboard box as board. It was my first time teaching the sunday school here in Lausanne and thanks God everything went well and the kids enjoyed it! The resources here (both materials and people) are very limited and make me realize how lucky we are back in New Zealand where we can have everything we want.

5) Carnaval de Lausanne – 29 April – 3rd May. There were rides, music, dances, street plays, food, etc. The city was packed with people and everyone was having fun (especially the kids)!
