A relaxing day

Boss is on leave today.  All staff are on business trip except 2 admins and myself.

I have been on this job for about 2 weeks now.  So far so good.  The only thing I am not too happy about is the computer.  I am using the slowest computer of the whole office.  My boss thinks that adding a piece of RAM onto my computer would make it fly LOL.  Hence I don’t get a computer.  I probably won’t get a computer until this one breaks.

One of the admin’s computer was broken on Wednesday, and hence she got a new computer with a giant screen right the way.  She only works here part time and she only uses Outlook and Excel.  But I use Photoshop and Dreamweaver!  And I only got 512MB of RAM and a P4 2.8 CPU!

Can anyone tell me how to break a computer in a ‘natural’ way?

On the other hand I don’t really want the new computer – coz it is in French Windows Vista Home Premium version.  (If you are interested, it doesn’t support server/client environment.  It is not meant to be used in the office.)  It is just not good to use at all!  If one day I got a new computer (I doubt when that time would come) I will format it and install XP onto it.

The problem is my boss won’t listen.  She only looks at the price.  And she hates to create pollutant – hence she is reluctant to replace the computers.  When I interviewed with her, she told me all computers are reasonably new.  I can tell you they are not!  She thinks 5-year-old computers are new.

Last Thursday was a public holiday and hence Doris & I went to Bern and Fribourg.  I am sure Bern is one of the most beautiful town in the world!  A lovely town with stylish buildings, surrounded by a river.  Photos on Doris’s facebook!
